Gero Furchheim

Gero Furchheim began his career in 1994 as press officer International Coordination Agfa-Gevaert Group at Bayer AG, Leverkusen. Following that, between 1998 and 2008 he was Division Manager Corporate Communications at Leica Camera Group. Soon after, he continued his career as Managing Director of the creative inneneinrichter GmbH & Co. KG buying group in Darmstadt between 2008-2009. Since 2009 he’s been CEO of Cairo AG, a SME based in the Frankfurt region which sells high-quality design furniture via cairo.de, cairo.fr, cairo.at and cairo.ch as well as in two design stores in Frankfurt and Nuremberg. In 2014 he became President of the German E-Commerce and Distance Selling Trade Association (bevh). Between 2021 and 2024 he served the role of Vice President of the Federation of German Wholesale, Foreign Trade and Services (BGA). Finally, since 2025 he is the President of Ecommerce Europe.
